That’s it, playing with plugins. Hoping to get better picture loading and better formatting for comments, and the ability to preview and edit them too. And want youtubes to open in a new tab. But it is just me, my fabulous mac, and wordpress … so many limitations, except for my mac. And speaking of how great a mac is, if you post a picture please re-size it to max 800 pixels wide. Preview works and so does iPhoto. We have many pc’s in our house, and they never could just sit there, with their covers on, working. Always hard drives dangling about, fans blowing, blue screens and cries of terror. I understand that they are flexible, but this is so … hard to take apart and that is fine because it never breaks and it is safe from prying hands.
So if things appear and disappear, just wait. And I have to approve a first comment, and then you should be good to go.
Testing this new comment thing to see if the comment is editable.

I assume that one comment of mine had to be approved because it had more than one link. You emailed a screenshot yesterday about some of your setup choices, and I think there was something in there about that. I wasn’t totally in the penalty box. I posted again right after. It was just that one post with the two links.

pete – all I did was drag the url onto the comment field and it displayed. There is something fishy, but it we seem to be getting there! And I kind of like the generated avatar you got. Grows on one! And you could certainly take EO’s avatar, one bite at a time.
Yes you are right – there was a link limit that called for moderation.
Did you notice the live preview at the bottom of the comment zone? Doesn’t seem to work for pictures so it is nigh on useless, but there we have it.
I am going to try and add a weather widget!

EDIT: and now the picture is back in the first one? Maybe there’s a lag, or it waits for the editing time to expire? Oh well, now it’s posted twice.

Yes confirmed, if you edit it tricks you into thinking you have lost your image, but it’s temporary and it appears again when the page is refreshed for any reason.

That seemed to work with just a copy and paste of the url.
i still have tomatoes, bell peppers, and chili peppers ripening at a decent rate. i have them growing right up against the south facing and longest length of my house, which also has very reflective white siding. so as long as we don’t have more than a few killing frosts, after which i just give up with covering stuff, i will be making fresh Pico de Gallo at least once a week. last year i picked tomatoes until the 3rd weekend in November. our normal first frost is mid to late September!
so i just finished making a batch of that, and am cooking down a stock pot full of black beans – all fresh ingredients as well, including the dried beans. so we will be cooking something Mexican tonight. it is such a nice day here that i don’t want to slave over a hot stove, otherwise i think i would make some pork for tamales. instead, i just ran out and got some Sol, and also blue corn chips at the Mexican store. tonight it’s going to be nachos.
so if you listen closely, you may even be able to hear the first bottle being opened. 🙂
