Assistive assistance and affirmative answers …

as if … merely an antidote to the last post’s seemingly negative title. It was meant to be a positive … a reminder to see the possibilities not the dangers in a new situation.  But it was kind of bossy.  Now there’s a useful word!

But today my mind is more fragmented than whole, and I have never been good at compartmentalizing, an awful, evil word or I should say concept, so I am going to simply put on some tunes, and mellow out.  We have noticed a trend in my favourite mother-in-law that when she becomes anxious or atrabilious [how can I not have used this as a WoD!] she starts to micro-manage as my favourite father-in-law puts it.  I initially dismissed his opinion, out of habit, but then realised he was absolutely right.  An offer to help set the table, while she is doing something else, will subtly turn into her doing it, while you melt away to try to unburden her of another task, like fixing the dock or moving enormous boulders, and she is suddenly helping you, and then doing it entirely while you watch, at first unaware you have been rendered redundant.  So you go and start stuffing a chicken, and bam, there she is, helping you, hand under the skin, pushing in butter and the fat she miraculously trimmed without you noticing.  And of course, years into it, I find myself doing the same thing, only I am not nearly as proficient.  I begin to meddle, when I need to Meddle!

See you on the flip-side of this lovely Friday.
